Decatur City Schools STEAM Engine-Decatur, Al

Yesterday was the first school visit of the 2026-2027 school year!

Second and third grade students are learning about how astronauts take samples in space, and look at them with microscopes. Students got to look at a peacock feather, chrysanthemum stem, and a honey bee wing!

The STEAM Engine enjoyed being at Banks-Caddell Elementary School - Decatur, Alabama last night for their science night! Students and parents had the opportunity to participate in many different science activities to learn about coding, magnets, and more!

We are so excited about this event tonight, and cannot wait to read and create with our students!

ALL ABOARD: Throughout the month of July, our Decatur City Schools STEAM Engine will be rolling into neighborhoods and school parking lots to give away books! There will also be teachers present to read those books to students.

Students will have the opportunity to explore and create on the STEAM Engine. Don't miss our first stop on the tour this evening!

🕔 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Aquadome
🕡 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Woodmeade Elementary School

We can't wait to see you there for an evening of fun, learning, and creativity!
