We asked Berk what was his favorite Bautanzt Here performance.

“Hollow Bones. I had the honor and privilege to see first hand how design and construction of costumes and installations progressed and came to life. It was an exciting and creative process. The characters for this specific performance were very well constructed. I liked the way they communicated, their dialogue and slow pace walk was a powerful emotional expression.

I believe dance is the best outlet for expression and I like how far Bautanzt Here has come. I wish to see more street performances (free-form movement) where our dancers can connect with random audiences and also indoor performances; planned, composed, structured choreography and intimate....

Let’s experience audience applause and direct appreciation more this year.”

Yes, when working on Hollow Bones - our first project for Atlanta Beltline - we rehearsed in the little studio at the ! Fun times :)

We are very grateful to Berk for his support as a volunteer and an audience member throughout all these years. Excited for what’s to come next!

Over the course of 5 and a half years of creating and performing site-specific works, Bautanzt Here reimagined various public spots as stages. One of our favorites is definitely an Old Fourth Ward Plaza right on the Atlanta Beltline . It was our perfect playground with benches, stairwells of different shapes and sizes, sculptures and installations nearby.

But the main thing - we were able to interact with audiences and see their reactions to our rehearsal or performance right away. The largest audience we ever had!

We hope to be back to that special place again.
