Henry Ford Village, Dearborn’s exceptional Senior Community, invited Henry Ford College’s Interior Design Department to participate in a hands-on design opportunity. Our students have been provided with an existing one-bedroom apartment space at the Village to remodel and update. To take full advantage of this extraordinary educational experience, students were able to enroll in our first ever “Staging” course. Seven students are busy developing the plans for this space. Here we are measuring the site, working as a team space planning, selecting furniture and furnishings, and collaborating on the overall concept for the unit.
Over the next couple of months, the design will be approved and implented. Watch our progress as we “stage” our apartment. There will be an unveiling of the finished space in December and you are invited to attend our Open House. Stay tuned!
