Our special events volunteers are just that: Special! These folks volunteer their time with MetroParks to help us bring a smile to the community's faces and work alongside our staff to bring MetroParks magic to life, from flying pancakes to farming fun. We have plenty of opportunities to volunteer coming up, including Small Farm & Food Fest on Aug. 1 and our biggest event of the year, the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience Link in comment/bio to volunteer with us!

“Obviously, I’m a tree nerd and hugger, so I’m always going to advocate for people to have trees,” Johnson said. “I empathize with the things that are hard about having a tree, but it’s worth it. It’s worth it for your kids’ interaction with nature, for the environment, for animal and insect populations. You have to understand that the risk is probably pretty low for it costing you a lot of money.”
