Summer season and casual strolls in the little towns on Martha’s Vineyard for a random weekday couples session. This chill New England vibe is all I’ve been dreaming of the past few days.

If this isn’t your vibe, what is?

Haven’t showed my face on here in a bit, and here is why. A few days after this photo was taken, I slipped on ice. Even though I was being cautious and took precautions to avoid the ice- it still got me. I was down!

As a small business you would have thought this would have scared me, and while it did, I didn’t stress as bad as one thought. This did happen during the slower season, so that helped.

However, I was laying in the hospital bed after having my foot reset pulling up clients, mapping out dates of upcoming events and reaching out to my team. A team of collective colleagues that I have been working with for years. I adjust some invoices and spends a personal email to each client in the days to come to not be alarmed if they see anything on socials.

I was in a hospital bed for 3 days due to the severity of the break, and still working. Having a plan in place as a small business is the best thing you could do for yourself. My slow time for getting back end things done soon became the slowdown to heal.

I still showed up to each job I was already contract for, I was prepared with additional help and present for my couples. While this break is not ideal, I made the most of it. The few in my community that reached out often to check on me, cook foods, drive me places and just be there has been uplifting.

A secuela de boda for Megan and Jorge. Traveling down to the south end of the island, the two gathered with friends and family local and far to celebrate Jorge’s Puerto Rican celebrations. Hopping between Ponce and Salina’s, this multi day celebration was not only exciting to photograph but beautiful to witness personally.

Island time is a real thing, and seeing the ease of their wedding weekend unfold was heartwarming. Cutting loose at the chinchorro, splashing around the shoreline, exploring downtown, speeches that had tears forming, hearing childhood stories, kayaking the morning of the wedding and hearing all the cheers for that ceremony kiss has been replaying in my mind.

Still sorting through days of media.

The summer season is upon us. The biggest question I hear is to do a party favor or not. Honestly, the shot glasses and cozies are a little dated and get tossed quickly. Being a little more mindful to your theme and what the favor is, a cute little keychain that doubles as your seating chart is an idea perfect for any destination wedding!
