HEADS UP
Severe storms are likely very late Wednesday and into overnight Thursday morning. The orange, a level 3 out of 5, severe weather risk means numerous storms could turn severe by producing damaging straight line winds, large hail, or tornadoes. Please stay weather aware!! Don't be scared, be prepared. Things can and will change as we get closer to time. Our Storm Center 7 Team is going to be tracking this as it gets closer and will keep bringing you the newest information.

FIRST BIG HEAT
We don't really show you this on TV cause it's a bit more complicated than the heat index or the feels like temperatures... this is the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature. It takes into account not only the humidity, but also the wind speed, if you are in direct sunlight, sun angle, and even cloud cover. The temperature range isn't the same as what we usually show either. Wednesday afternoon numbers are approaching the high category in the upper 80s, where we are all at an increased risk of heat illness. If you work outside or plan to spend time outdoors for a while Wednesday, take it easy on yourself! Especially since we haven't had this heat since last summer!
