With 98% of ballots counted, we are excited to share that Ryan Davis has been elected as Yolo County's next Superior Court Judge.

Appointing a District Attorney who will serve Yolo County for the next two years is one of the most consequential decisions the Board of Supervisors will make.

Yolo County's residents deserve a thorough search, vetting, and recruitment process that considers both internal and outside candidates.

A thorough process, even though it takes more time and work for county staff, will go a long way to reassuring constituents that every voice was heard, every perspective considered, and the best possible person for the position was ultimately appointed. Decisions of this magnitude should not be rushed or decided by inertia and convenience.

Yolo County Board of Supervisors is set to appoint a successor for retiring District Attorney Jeff Reisig. Options include directly appointing Acting District Attorney Melinda Aiello or initiating a recruitment process. The chosen candidate must be a registered Yolo County voter with an active California State Bar license.
