Bluebelle is a super adorable, spunky, playful, little girl. 🪻🔔 ⭐️

She is happy and bright, and always up for toy play, silly hand games, and playing fetch. Bluebelle is a sweet and friendly beauty, who will gladly jump into your lap for some petting and affection. She loves to be in the yard, but also does well walking on a leash. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with her rescue pals.

Bluebelle is a Shih Tzu, about 51/2 - 6 years and 12 pounds. Her fantastic personality makes it enjoyable and lots of fun to be with her. Coming home from the grocery store to find diarrhea all over your couch — and cleaning it up while your dog follows you around like nothing happened.

Skipping a friend’s birthday dinner because the grooming bill is due next week and your dog comes first.

Sitting on the floor of the emergency vet at 2am praying the vomiting stops, running on coffee and panic.

Logging into your Zoom meeting five minutes late because your dog suddenly decided this was the morning he absolutely refused to p*e.

Bathing him right before guests arrive because he rolled in bird p**p with the confidence that he’s done something brilliant.

Washing your sheets for the third time that week because muddy paws somehow always find the bed.

Taking the world’s shortest shower because the silence in the other room feels suspicious.

Spending your “quick Target run” money on prescription food, probiotics, allergy meds, treats, toys, or yet another leash he absolutely did not need.

Sleeping in the tiniest corner of your own bed while he stretches out like he pays the mortgage.

Canceling plans because he’s anxious during storms and you know he’ll spend the night shaking without you there.

Going outside in freezing rain at midnight holding an umbrella over him while you get completely soaked.

Learning every weird little sound he makes and instantly knowing when something is wrong.

Finding fur in your coffee, your car, your laundry, your lip gloss, and somehow inside sealed containers.

Crying harder over his pain than your own.

And loving him so completely that none of it ever feels like a burden for long.

Because real dog ownership isn’t just the cute photos and happy walks. It’s sacrifice, exhaustion, messes, stress, worry, schedules, money, and heartbreak wrapped up with the purest kind of love there is.

And you wouldn’t trade him for anything in the whole entire world. 🧡

Marnie is as fantastic as they come, and it’s a crying shame that she has been at the rescue for over 1 1/2 years. The reason no one has stepped up to love this precious little girl is simply because she was born with a small jawbone, which causes her tongue to hang out of her mouth most of the time. (She can bring the tongue fully inside her mouth, but it usually falls back out).

Marnie is an absolute sweetheart with a big, bright, fun personality. She adores being with people, and loves it all, from hanging out and cuddling in a cozy lap, to playing with toys, playing fetch, and going for walks. Marnie is a happy and friendly girl, who shares her zest for life with everyone, human and canine alike. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and, needless to say, she is a favorite amongst our staff and volunteers.

Marnie is a Shih Tzu, about 4-5 years old and 12-13 pounds. She receives eye drops for dry eye, and no other medication.

Oh, Kirstie! Where is your forever family?

Kirstie is a beautiful French Bulldog, about 18-20 pounds, and 3.5 years old. Kirstie is wonderful with people and loves to share her happy, bright, fun personality with everyone. She is energetic and very active, and likes to go for walks and play with toys. Kirstie can also be cuddly and affectionate, in addition to her silly, playful side. She is surely a whole lot of fun to be with.

Kirstie, on occasion, can be aggressive towards other dogs, so she should be the only dog in her new home. This is likely the only reason she is still at the rescue. There must be someone out there just right for her. We are truly hoping that person will step up for Kirstie and open their heart and home to this amazing girl, and put in an application today at shihtzurescue.org. Sunday Adoption News ☀️

Today, our sweet little Dominic James begins the next chapter of his happily ever after — and we couldn’t be more excited for this adorable black-and-white Shih Tzu boy. 🖤🤍

From rescue to cherished companion, Dominic James has completely stolen our hearts with his tiny paws, soulful eyes, and irresistible charm. And now, he’s headed home with a wonderful new mom who already adores him beyond words.

From here on out, this lucky little guy will know only cozy cuddles, soft beds, belly rubs, and a lifetime of unconditional love. Exactly what every rescue dog deserves. 🐾

Congratulations, Dominic James — your forever starts now. We can’t wait to watch you thrive in the loving home you were always meant to have.
