FINAL PICKUP OF HURRICANE DEBRIS BEGINS

WINDLEY KEY: MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2017

UPPER MATECUMBE KEY: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2017

LOWER MATECUMBE KEY: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2017

Islamorada property owners are given notice that the final collection of hurricane debris has now been scheduled for all areas of the Village. Windley Key, Upper Matecumbe Key and Lower Matecumbe Key property owners must place all hurricane debris in the right-of-way by Sunday evening before the final pickup begins to have it removed as part of the hurricane debris collection.

Final debris pickup begins on the dates listed above. Residents are directed to place debris on the right-of-way in front of your home by:

After the noticed date, residents will need to make individual arrangements for the removal of all materials not collected as part of the hurricane debris removal.

All areas of Islamorada have had multiple pickups of hurricane debris since the removal since activities began on September 16th. Plantation Key is essentially completed with only some of the largest tree stumps still to be removed. Windley Key will be complete as soon as Monday, October 30th.

NO FURTHER DUMPING IS ALLOWED IN ANY AREA AFTER THE FINAL DEBRIS COLLECTION BEGINS.

DUMPING ON RIGHTS-OF-WAY ON PLANTATION KEY HAS NOT BEEN ALLOWED SINCE OCTOBER 23rd. NO DUMPING FOR WINDLEY KEY BEGINS OCTOBER 30th.

REMINDER: DIRECTIONS FOR DEBRIS PLACEMENT:

Debris will not be picked up from private property, must be placed on the right-of way.

DO NOT pile debris on manhole covers, fire hydrants, etc.

Do not bag debris - debris in bags will not be picked up.

Debris must be separated into three separate piles:

1. Vegetative debris such as trees, limbs and other plant debris

2. Construction & Demolition debris such as doors, drywall, wood from docks and furniture/furnishings.

3. White goods - such as household appliances.
