TAX TALK - Now I'm not hating and those of you that know me, know that I'm all about helping and not throwing shade. But y'all, be very careful who you entrust your confidential tax information to. There may be more to it than you think. Check their credentials, be sure they are registered with the IRS as a tax preparer. It's not required, but you might want to be sure you are dealing with someone that has nothing to hide by not registering with IRS to do this job. Protect yourself, no matter what is on that return, IRS is going to come after you for sure.................. I'm just saying.....

TAX TALK - If you had medical insurance from the Marketplace, you should receive a Form 1095-A in the mail to file with your federal income taxes. That form is important and can delay your refund if it is not included. So be certain to get or have that Form 1095-A when you file your taxes. If you don't have it, contact Marketplace at 8-800-318-2596

TAX TALK - If a taxpayer is claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), they can file their
return any time after the filing season begins. However, by
law, the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for tax
returns that claim EITC or the ACTC. Keep in mind that only a
small percentage of total filers will fall into this situation.
While the IRS will process taxpayer returns when they are
received, it cannot issue related refunds before mid-February.
The IRS expects most EITC/ACTC related refunds to be
available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards by the
first week of March, if they chose direct deposit and there
