With a little creativity and the right tools...reclaimed wood (of any source...even a skateboard, which is Maple plywood) can become every bit as interesting and attractive as brand new lumber.

đŸ”„HOT, FROM THE FORGE!đŸ”„

This piece was a custom request from someone who saw and loved my “Bourbon Barrel Blades” (knives with a handle that’s made from genuine, reclaimed, charred đŸ„ƒ Bourbon Barrel Oak) but she’s more of a “wine fan” than a “Bourbon fan.”

So she asked if I could do the same exact knife, except using a genuine, reclaimed, Red Wine Barrel Oak plank...instead of one from an old Bourbon Barrel.

OF COURSE I CAN! 🙂

Here’s what that turned out like: You’ll notice that I split ONE SINGLE OAK PLANK—right down the middle—in order to make a knife handle from a single piece of Wine Barrel Oak. This gives one side of the knife handle, the INSIDE part of the barrel (you’ll notice that one side of the Oak handle—in particular—is stained in a rich, deep, đŸ· “wine red/burgundy” color) and the flip side of the knife handle, bears the OUTSIDE part of the Wine Barrel (a mature, lightly-charred, aged Oak that’s FULL of uniqueness and character).

I have to admit: It’s much more interesting and beautiful than I had originally imagined/pictured. The “Bourbon Barrel Bladeâ„ąïžâ€ STILL remains Harkenzo’s Signature Piece, but I’ll still be glad to make WHATEVER CUSTOM BLADE YOU CAN IMAGINE!

Have a great night, my FB Friends & Family!
