Sunday Morning Worship-Part 1

06/27/2026

How do you break generational poverty? Is just giving food enough? No!!!!! We provide food for 2000 families each day, but that will not break poverty. That only helps them to survive another day. You must hit poverty from all angles. But you must provide food for them, until they can provide for themselves.

You need to offer job training for adults. To improve their way of life, adults need better jobs. Support systems must be put in place to help them survive until they get a better job. if they don't have gas money or rent money, getting a better job will not last.

Families must have medical care. Many do not have insurance or Medicaid, and there are fewer doctors in South and Southeast Dallas. People in South and Southeast Dallas have lifespans from 18-23 years shorter than in other areas of Dallas. That is because they don’t see doctors until they have Stage 4 cancer, or end stage kidney failure, or until it is too late to save their life. There is not enough healthy food in poverty areas. This affects their health also. Free medical care helps these families.

The pets must have medical care also. We give food to families, but pets must have food, too.

Families must have coats in the winter. We give thousands of coats for families to keep warm in the winter.

Senior Citizens are past working age and receive small Social Security checks and maybe $12 of food stamps. Many go hungry in poverty areas. They must have food and a social life. Senior Socials help them to cope.

Children must be educated. They need uniforms and school supplies. Education will break poverty. However, someone must assist with clothing and supplies. When they are in High School, they must have the correct clothing for prom and graduation. Providing snack food for schools helps students to stay for tutoring. They need this extra time of education to pass the test, so they can get out of poverty. Providing the teachers supplies for their classrooms, in poverty areas, helps to raise the level of education.

Small pantries can’t bring in supplies by the truck load, so bigger food banks must supply food to them. This gives more arms to reach those drowning in poverty.

Babies much have diapers, formulas, and supplies. Babies, born into poverty, don’t get to choose their parents. But early care will help them learn better.

At Christmas, children MUST have toys. Parents in poverty often will use their rent money for Christmas toys. Then in February, they are evicted. Schools start testing. The homeless children will not do good on tests. The Christmas toy starts a downward cycle. Schools scores come down. More theft happens. The whole community hurts, and it all starts with a Christmas toy. So, we have to provide the Christmas toys to break this cycle.

We teach and teach and teach!!!! Education breaks poverty.

People need God's help to break out of generational poverty. We pray for so many people, in dire situations.

These are all things, plus more, that we do, at Inspired Vision Compassion Center. We daily fight poverty mentality. We need help. Would you like to help? We need volunteers.
