Rumor has it Dallas City Hall is considering relocating to Deep Ellum’s former Wits End space as its permanent home.

Under the proposed plan, City Hall would operate during standard business hours, then transition into a cigar and concept bar each evening to “better understand the realities of the nighttime economy.”

Sources say officials are especially interested in gaining firsthand experience with permitting, noise complaints, and late-night operations in one of Dallas’ most historic districts.

If approved, council meetings would begin at 2pm and wrap promptly at last call.
