🔍What makes Keith Richards’ “Micawber” Telecaster sound so distinct?

Not a stock Tele bridge pickup.
It’s Rewound by Fred Stuart early days in Fender.

This unique recipe became known as the Lap Wrap™.

Fred Stuart continues this tradition with the Lap Wrap™ pickup, built to the same specifications that defined one of the most recognized Telecaster tones in rock history.

Fred was behind the creation of several legendary models, including the “White 0001” Stratocaster for David Gilmour, as well as the “Rex Gallion” Stratocasters, which still echo through Gilmour’s music.

These bench copies, crafted in 2013, are a perfect homage to the original. Featuring gold hardware, vintage lace pickups, and a ’54 spec neck, they capture the essence of Gilmour’s signature tone and timeless style.

One of these replicas even made waves at Christie’s Auction in 2019, selling for a whopping $93,750.
