hakes is a professional musician whose talents extend from live performance to session work. He has worked with many artists, spanning many different genres from hip hop, to R&B, to blues, to pop, and Rock n’ roll. Most recently pre-pandemic, Alex was recording with Anson Funderbergh and Christian Brooks. Alex has been the session guitarist on call at sessions ranging from Red Carpet Studios in Deep Ellum, TX, Maxi Media in Dallas, TX, and many other private studios in Dallas. In 2016, Alex cofounded Mystic Grounds Studios in Richardson, TX with his friends Kenny Kranzow, Gunwa, Tyler Carrera, and Anthony Abston. Alex is a proud Eagle Scout of Troop 751 in Richardson, TX. He uses many of his skills he learned from his scouting experience while he teaches. He understands that critical development of young children, and the young at heart, is of vital importance in any learning environment. Not only is he an active guitarist who plays and records professionally in Dallas, he also hold a deep personal commitment and passion for teaching and training other musicians to excel in their talents. Hours: I am generally open to start by 12:00pm at the latest. I usually stop teaching anywhere from 6pm to midnight. If you plan to come early or late, please call ahead. Lessons: Right now my schedule is pretty full so please call at 214) 500-9671 and ask for Alex about pricing and availability. The summer months often have cancellations. The slots I have available are what I have at the moment. Lesson slots are scheduled at a first come, first serve basis. So those who tend to communicate with me regularly tend to have the more desirable slots. The Method: I understand that everyone learns differently, accordingly there is no strict lesson plan that will benefit all students equally. My approach is a unique blend of classical, traditional, and ear training delivered with a sense of patience, kindness, and understanding through custom lesson plans tailored to your needs. Cancellation: Please provide as much notice as possible in the event of a cancellation. At the minimum, I require at least 24-48 hour notice for cancellations to not be credited. Sick students should always stay home, or someplace other than around me. Parking: On the street please. IF you happen to drive a vintage, fully restored Porsche 911 964 in black, I will valet for you. Because you, sir, have the utmost taste in fine automobiles. Just make sure you have insurance.
