Our Rabbit Room

Urban sociologist, Ray Oldenburg, argues about the importance of the informal public gathering places for the functioning of a civil society. He calls the beer gardens, pubs, cafes, coffeehouses, the front porch, the front yard and other informal gathering spaces “third spaces”. As opposed to first spaces (home) and second spaces (work), third spaces offer a neutral public space for a community to connect and establish bonds. In our privatized modern world we have largely forgotten the import function of these “third spaces” in establishing or reestablishing the bonds of community.
That’s a pretty good summation for the goals of Our Rabbit Room Gatherings. #

We Are Back, but doing our home shows a little different this time. Our Rabbit Room is collaborating with to bring to you a new series . The new series of guest artist will be hosted at homes that have been designed by SHM architects.
These events will be curated to celebrate excellent craftsmanship and the gathering of community, all within a setting that reflects the best of SHM’s design philosophy.

I’m so proud of this beautiful kind talented couple pulling together such a fabulous Pop Up Gallery Flow in Flux ! and art and sculptures were beautifully displayed.
