California schools: SB 1248, now Education Code 33355, took full effect yesterday. 🌡️

Every district, county office of education, and charter school is now required to have a written protocol for outdoor activity during extreme heat: PE, recess, and school sports included.

The tricky part? A lot of existing plans look solid but have real gaps, like relying on a phone's temperature reading, or leaving the "should we cancel?" call to whoever happens to be around that afternoon.

We broke down 4 of the most common gaps and how to fix each one. Take a look, and share it with the administrator or athletic director who needs it.
