2. Complete the contact information form

SOME SUGGESTED BULLET POINTS TO INCLUDE

—Either a data center moratorium or complete ban in Texas is a common sense policy that protects Texans. It gives communities and their elected officials time to properly analyze proposals, invite public comment and feedback to local and county government officials to understand how it will affect the town/city/county.

—The legislature must require that data centers report their direct and indirect water and energy use to the Texas Water Development Board. Data centers report their usage is not included in the current 2027 water plan that will remain in place until 2032. Additional, data centers report their water use to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. This information must be made publicly available.

—The use of NDAs with public entities should be severely curtailed. Texans should be able to easily find out the basic facts of water and electricity consumption by data centers on an ongoing basis.

—Closed loop data centers or none. No exceptions. Instead of consuming millions of gallons daily, these systems circulate a fixed volume of liquid through cold plates and heat exchangers to reject heat to the outside air.

—The legislature should give countries the ability to increase their regulatory ability over data centers, especially in unincorporated parts of the counties, allowing for development moratoriums if needed until the state develops regulations about how data centers will operate in the future.

GET TYPING! YOU’VE GOT UNTIL 8 PM TO LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!!! Share if you commented and ideas for others to comment!

Stay tuned to data center develop plans that call for "behind the meter" development of natural gas plants to run Texas data centers:

#datacenters #aiinfrastructure #energytransition #naturalgas #ercot #sustainability | Alex Lanin | 24 comments Microsoft is building one of the largest data centers in its history — a ~2 GW campus in Pecos, Texas. It won't run on the public grid. It'll run on a dedicated 2.67 GW natural gas plant that Chevron is building under a 20-year contract. First power is expected in 2028. Now the contradiction. Micr...
