Hey, everyone! As we dive into the scorching Texas summer, let’s not forget about our furry friends who need extra care during these hot months. Here are some essential tips to ensure your pets stay safe and comfortable:

1. **Hydration is Key** 💧: Always provide fresh, cool water. Dehydration can happen quickly in this heat!

2. **Limit Outdoor Time** 🏠: Walk your dogs during early morning or late evening when temperatures are lower. Hot pavement can burn their paws, so try the "7-second test"—if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.

3. **Never Leave Pets in Cars** 🚗: Even with windows cracked, temperatures can skyrocket in minutes, leading to fatal heatstroke.

4. **Shade and Shelter** 🌳: Ensure your pets have a shaded area and a cool place to rest when outside.

5. **Watch for Signs of Overheating** 🔥: Symptoms include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and vomiting. If you notice any of these, get them to a cooler place immediately and consult a vet.

6. **Grooming Matters** ✂️: Keep your pets’ fur trimmed to help regulate their body temperature, but avoid shaving them completely—fur also protects against sunburn.
