Food and Child Nutrition Services (FCNS) provides approximately 125,000 lunch meals, 98,000 breakfast meals and 10,000 after school meals daily at over 219 school sites. In addition, during the summer we provide approximately 300,000 summer meals at Dallas ISD schools and other non-school sites. FCNS has its own warehouse operation that distributes 28,000 cases per week, a production kitchen that

What an incredible day at the Summer Meals Kick-Off 2026!
Today, the Dallas ISD Food and Child Nutrition Services (FCNS) team, along with dedicated staff, volunteers, community partners, and vendors, came together with one goal in mind: to create a fun, welcoming, and unforgettable experience for our children and families.
From exciting games and activities to music, giveaways, and delicious FREE meals, the campus was filled with smiles, laughter, and community spirit. Every member of the FCNS team worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the front lines to ensure that every child felt special, welcomed, and cared for.
This event was more than just a celebration—it was the official kickoff of a summer dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children across our community. Seeing families connect, children enjoy themselves, and neighbors come together reminded us why this program is so important.
A special thank you goes out to our amazing staff, volunteers, vendors, and partners whose hard work made today possible. Your passion and commitment helped create a memorable day for hundreds of children and families.
Most importantly, thank you to the community for showing up, participating, and supporting this event. Your presence brought energy and excitement that made the celebration truly special. We are grateful for every family that attended and helped us launch another successful summer meals season.
