Six years ago, I won my first Grand Champion Turkey buckle at my very first State Fair of Texas Poultry Show with my favorite turkey, Spider-Man. At that show, a wonderful woman named Caroline took me under her wing, generously sharing her knowledge and offering guidance on preparing Spider-Man for judging.

This weekend, Caroline and her beautiful turkey, Gomer, earned Grand Champion Turkey at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. What makes this victory even more special is that the exceptional bird she won with is the great-great-great grandson of Spider-Man.

While I didn’t take home a win this weekend, a Keane Acres bird did—and I couldn’t be more proud to see him raised, loved, and shown so successfully by someone I’m honored to call my friend. Here’s to many more shows together and the continued legacy of great birds and great friendships. 🏆🦃
