☀️Another great meeting in San José del Cabo, Mexico! 🇲🇽

I spoke about the pros and cons of tubular vs endoscopic techniques as well as intra-operative navigation for minimally invasive spine procedures at the State of Spine Surgery Think Tank. 🧐

It wasn’t all work — my wife and I enjoyed swimming, exercising and dining with old and new friends alike. 🌊 🏃‍♂️ 🍽️

Dr. Sher had a deadline. 🗓️

A renowned radiation oncologist, he was slated to give the keynote address at a prestigious cancer symposium in two months. The problem: he could barely walk due to a bout of unrelenting sciatica, and he was losing strength and sensation in his leg.

He dragged himself into my office, where we discussed an L5-S1 discectomy to remove a herniated fragment of disc that was crushing his nerve. Surgery went smoothly, and he immediately experienced dramatic pain relief. He was comfortably home within hours and rapidly back at work.

Here he is two months later — back in action and doing what he does best. I’m thrilled that we were able to get him back on his feet and up on the podium. Congrats Dr. Sher! 👏

Eric recently reached out to celebrate his 3-year surgiversary from an endoscopic discectomy. After struggling with sciatica for nearly a year, he traveled from Virginia to Texas for surgery — and was comfortably on a plane back home the very next day.

Today, he’s thriving. In his own words:
