Setting proper expectations is often the defining factor in someone's success throughout training or their initial retention at a company.
Proper expectations enable the trainee to feel confident, knowing what they need to do and where they need to be each day to make progress and ensure they are on the right track. As the trainer, it allows for checkpoints and objective accountability, which leads to stronger conversations and leadership.

Goal-setting tip: Break your goals down into small incremental goals. This will help give you a daily/weekly focus and gradually work towards your goal instead of feeling like your goal is so far away and not knowing what to work on next.

Don't play the blame game or the comparison game. The way you stand out amongst your competition is by being genuine and the best representation of yourself and your client. Nothing else matters. Don't worry about what the competition is doing. Just focus on the customers you're meeting with today and the returning customers you're managing. That is how you stand out.

As we look to welcome our largest training class of 2026 this month, we have been working very diligently as a company to remind and enhance our training skills. Our goal: to be replicable, to teach and show systems, and to give our new staff confidence in their abilities and future with our company.
Effective training can make or break someone's experience and choice to stay with a company, and we don't take that lightly.
