Thank you everyone who turned out on a blustery Sunday to learn about the history of The Blue House, the last Queen Anne Victorian home in the Cedars neighborhood. The house, almost 140 years old, was about to be demolished and was rescued by neighbors who wanted it saved. On Sunday we celebrated its rebirth, restored by Mark Martinek and Jay Baker, two Cedars residents.

During the event organized by Preservation Dallas and Dallas Jewish Historical Society, I screened an excerpt from my work-in-progress documentary about this remarkable home and the man who build it in 1885, Max Rosenfield. Among the attendees was Alex Ray, Max's great-grandson.
