What separates us from so many other places you go is that we have made a decision to share our lives together so we are happy to be around each other and the love is obvious when you are in our presence.

July 13, 2026: When You Finally Come to Yourself

Devotional
There is a moment in the story of the Prodigal Son that does not get enough attention. It is not the party at the end. It is the quiet, painful moment when a young man sitting in a hog pen finally stopped lying to himself.

He had left home full of confidence, certain that freedom meant doing life on his own terms. But freedom without wisdom is just a faster road to emptiness. When the money ran out, the friends disappeared. When the fun stopped, so did everything else. And there he sat, hungry, humiliated, and alone.

That moment of rock bottom became the moment of breakthrough. He came to himself. He stopped blaming the famine. He stopped making excuses. He looked honestly at his choices and said, "I did this."

Self-awareness is one of the most underrated gifts you can develop. It is the ability to look at your life without filters and ask the hard questions. Where am I? How did I get here? What do I actually value?

You may not be in a hog pen, but you might be in a season where things just do not feel right. That discomfort is not your enemy. It might be the very thing God is using to get your attention and turn your eyes back toward home.

The good news is that clarity, even when it is painful, is always the first step toward something better.

Bible Verse
"And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my Father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!" - Luke 15:17

Reflection Question
Is there an area of your life right now where you have been avoiding an honest look at yourself, and what might God be trying to show you through it?

Quote
"One of the most valuable lessons that you will have to learn in your life is self awareness. And when you learn what you really value and what is really important to you, regardless to whatever anyone else thinks, you will begin to start thinking like a real adult."

Prayer
Lord, give me the courage to see myself clearly and the humility to stop making excuses. Help me to take that first honest step back toward You. Amen.

People can tell when you've been in the presence of God. 👀 The way you love, the way you respond under pressure, the peace you carry, and the grace you show others often reveal what has been shaping your heart. 💙

Time in God's presence changes us. It transforms the way we think, speak, and live. Over time, our lives begin to reflect the One we've been spending time with, because our lives will always reflect what we're closest to. 🙌🏿

What is your life revealing about what has your attention? 🤔💬⬇️
