On July 1st, the members of our newest hire class walked through our doors from all different walks of life. Each person brought their own unique background, their own personal motivations, and their own dreams for their future. But the moment this camera clicked, those individual paths converged into one shared destination.

Completing a single lease is a major milestone, but wrapping up your seventh consecutive lease is an achievement that speaks volumes about the work and dedication put into accomplishing it.

Today, the entire Stevens Transport family is coming together to celebrate Richard Fertig on this legendary milestone! Along with finishing his seventh lease, Richard earned a well-deserved lease completion bonus check of $9,813.22, which he proudly shared is funding a very special family vacation this year.

Richard began his journey back in 2011 after obtaining his CDL at TDI in Sanford, Florida. Over the last 15 years, he has driven nearly two and a half million safe miles, frequently capturing the beautiful scenery of the American West through his camera lens.

But Richard’s true impact stretches far beyond his own odometer. As a dedicated driver trainer, he has mentored over 158 new drivers, helping them launch successful careers of their own. His commitment to his students runs so deep that he still checks in on drivers he trained over a decade ago just to offer a word of support. For Richard, the support system at Stevens has truly made this company feel like home.

Richard, thank you for your work ethic, your leadership, and for being an inspiration to the Stevens family. Enjoy your vacation, and we cannot wait to see you cross the three million mile mark on your eighth lease!

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to our new Director of Driver Recruiting, David Edge.

David is no stranger to Stevens Transport. After more than 20 years, he's returning with a wealth of industry experience and a passion for helping drivers and recruiting teams succeed. When the opportunity to come back arose, he was excited to rejoin a growing company.

Originally from Georgia, David has built an impressive career in transportation that began in 1999 at a CDL school. Since then, he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including field recruiter, Director of Recruiting and Capacity Development, and most recently, Director of Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management. Along the way, he also owned a CDL school and a small trucking company, giving him a unique perspective on every side of the industry.

David attended the University of Georgia, earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Ashford University, and later completed his master's degree at Providence University in Delaware.

Outside of work, David is an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan who enjoys meeting new people, spending time with his wife, Kristie, and their three grown children, and exploring new places. He's also an enthusiastic coin collector who enjoys learning about history through the stories behind each piece. A fun fact about David: he's had dinner with a President of the United States!

David draws his motivation from his family and believes every day is an opportunity for a fresh start. He enjoys encouraging those around him, helping others reach their personal and professional goals, and creating opportunities for success.

As he begins this next chapter at Stevens Transport, David is looking forward to growing professionally while helping others do the same. His leadership, experience, and passion for developing people make him a tremendous addition to the team.

What a week! Spirit Week at Stevens Transport was an absolute blast, and the energy across the entire team was unmatched. 🚛✨

From the highway to the office, everyone brought their A-game. Here is a quick look back at how we celebrated:

Monday 🔴 We kicked things off with Company Pride Day! The sea of Stevens Transport gear and company colors proved exactly why we have the best team in logistics.

Tuesday ⚡ We took a trip down memory lane for Throwback Tuesday. From 80s neon to 90s grunge, the retro styles were on point!

Wednesday 🍔 Things got competitive for Favorite Team Day! Reps from every league were out in full force. Plus, a massive shoutout to Goff’s Burgers for keeping us fueled up out in the employee parking lot.

Thursday 🇺🇸 We closed out the week strong with American Pride Day! The red, white, and blue were everywhere as we geared up for Independence Day, topped off with some legendary water-ice from Cool Cups in the breakroom.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, dressed up, and reminded us why the culture here at Stevens Transport is second to none. You all drive this company forward every single day!

On July third, Augustine Castilleja will be celebrating an incredible milestone, twenty years with Stevens Transport.

When our drivers have a safety question or concern, Augie is the person they call.

Known for his genuine care and commitment to helping others, Augie has built strong relationships with drivers throughout the company.

Whether he's providing guidance or answering questions, he always takes the time to listen and help.

His connection with the drivers has never skipped a beat and he brings that same passion and driver-first mindset into everything he does.
