The Story of “Giving Gracie”

After producing a commissioned art piece for the owners, Kevin delivered it to them. Their young daughter Gracie, felt a connection as a kindred artist because she also liked to draw and create, so she gave him one of her drawings. He liked it so much, that he was inspired to create this painting as a gift from what she had drawn – so “Giving Gracie” was born.

When we recently heard from the owners that they had made the painting the centerpiece of their family room, it brought to mind that art serves its best and highest purpose when it brings those that view it joy.

PUT DOWN YOUR COFFEE: WE HAVE BIG NEWS! Okay, pick it back up again. Thanks to your support over the three years since we opened, we're thrilled to announce that on Friday, October 21, we're expanding our space here on Akard Street 60% to 2,500 square feet of café complete with a back patio, expanded menu, roasting space, added seating, an area for performances, and hand-picked retail items! This means service Mon - Sat (7 am – 4 pm) and a bigger menu that will include traditional coffee drinks prepared to order using pour over or hand tamped espresso, a selection of hot teas, cold brew concentrate, sipping chocolate, and pastries from some of the best pastry chefs in Dallas. The expansion was designed and built by Steve Mabry—who we want to thank for his collaborative spirit and hard work. We can't wait to show it to you!
