This is John Stoker with Stoker Tree Service. Lately I’ve noticed quite a few trees around Midlothian trimmed in ways that can hurt them long-term — lion-tailing, topping, or raising the canopy so high the tree loses its natural shape.

Good pruning isn’t about cutting more, it’s about working with the tree’s structure so it stays strong, healthy, and looks the way it’s supposed to.
