July 15, 1901 - Christy Mathewson becomes the first rookie to throw a no-hitter in baseball history. The 20-year-old right-hander, who will hurl another no-hit game in 1905, holds the Cardinals hitless in the Giants' 5-0 victory at Robison Field in St. Louis.

More than a decade later, Roy Halladay's legacy still connects two franchises.

Before Dylan Cease took the mound for the Blue Jays and Cristopher Sánchez got the ball for the Phillies in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, the last pitcher to start the Midsummer Classic for both organizations was Roy Halladay.

A Hall of Famer whose greatness left a lasting mark in Toronto and Philadelphia, Doc's legacy continues to stand among baseball's best.

July 10, 2001 - In his final All-Star appearance, Cal Ripken is named the MVP of the game. The Orioles shortstop's home run and consecutive dingers from Derek Jeter and Magglio Ordonez power the AL to its fifth victory in a row, beating the National League at Seattle's Safeco Field, 4-1.
