Our infant adoption team, Jennifer and Jackie, are walking alongside 5 diverse waiting adoptive families as they begin their lifelong adoption journey. Since 1918, Hope Cottage has helped find loving forever homes for vulnerable children in Dallas.

We help families prepare for openness in adoption, transracial adoption, healthy identity development for adopted children, and more with the lifelong best-interest of each adoptee. At Hope Cottage we understand that families come in all shapes and sizes, each unique in their own way. Our vision is a safe, loving family for everyone.

✨Staff Spotlight: Stephanie Goerlitz✨

Last month was Foster Care Awareness month. We want to recognize a team member who shows up every day with fierce love and unwavering dedication for her clients. Hope Cottage is thrilled to shine the spotlight on Stephanie Goerlitz, one of our incredible Foster Care Services Case Managers. Born in Irvine, California, Stephanie moved to Texas for school in 2018 and graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in social work. Go Mean Green!💚 In her free time, Stephanie enjoys painting and gardening.

For Stephanie, foster care isn’t just a job, it’s a calling. She shared:

"Hands down, the best part of my job is spending time with all my kiddos. I get the privilege of supporting foster children and families during the hardest and most vulnerable seasons of their lives. They make me laugh constantly, keep me humble, and remind me daily why this work matters. Progress isn’t always loud—sometimes it looks like a child finally trusting you enough to tell you a joke, invite you to stay for dinner, or get excited when you walk through the door. This job is challenging, emotional, and sometimes exhausting — but it is incredibly rewarding.

This Memorial Day, Hope Cottage holds space for loss, for love, and for the heavy weight of sacrifice. Thank you to those who serve and those we have lost.

After an incredibly impactful 2025, the Parenting Support Program at Hope Cottage is being recognized by the D Magazine Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards. They are finalists for the Team of the Year award at a midsize nonprofit.

A family in our Parenting Support Program who have been receiving help for their toddler has now welcomed a beautiful newborn into their home. Their newborn was born with multiple health complications that will require WEEKLY follow up doctor visits.
