I thought once my younger son entered middle school, my appetite for coaching might start to fade…
Turns out, it’s only grown.

This year, along with coaching my 8th grade squad, I’ve also had the joy of leading my 3rd grade Wolverines team. For many of these boys, it’s their first time ever playing basketball—and they’ve hit the ground running.

One of those players is Avinav Kumar.

Don’t let his size fool you—this kid has the heart of a giant.
His work ethic, attitude, and hunger to learn have set the tone for the whole team.

This week’s game ball goes to Avi—not just for what he’s doing on the court, but for showing all of us that effort and heart go a long way.

Proud of you, young fella. Keep pushing!

Today marks the official opening of the Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center, the latest addition to the city of Allen’s community.

Former Mayor Stephen Terrell, who served as Allen’s mayor from 1991 to 2020, has been an exemplary figure in our community. His influence was pivotal during my transition to Texas in 2018.

The decision to name this exceptional facility after Mayor Terrell is a prestigious and well-deserved honor.

Mayor Terrell, your dedicated service to the Allen community is truly commendable. Congratulations on this distinguished naming honor.

For those who haven’t had the opportunity yet, I highly recommend exploring this first-class facility with its remarkable amenities.
