Patriarchy was never just an idea. It was a household
arrangement, a legal structure, a priestly order, an emotional
training, a political theology, and a story about what was
natural. To challenge it, I need more than one register. I need
memory. I need study. I need courage. I need language wide
enough to hold all three.
