L. (Learning with the Understanding and Vision for Education), was founded in 2011 by Ruby Clarice Dickerson. Dickerson initially had a vision to assist high school dropouts in her community, improve their basic educational skills, obtain their GED, and become productive citizens. He proved it’s never too late!👏🏾 At 101, Merrill Pittman Cooper achieved his lifelong dream of earning a high school diploma.
He attended Storer College in the 1930s but left during senior year for financial reasons.
With family support, he received an honorary diploma in a special March 19 ceremony.
