I tutor In-Person and will travel to you. My standard rate is $50 per hour but message me for longer term plans. Aside from being a professional tutor and teacher, I myself am a student who has a passion for learning. This means that I know how teaching can fail in the classroom as well as privately with tutoring as I have experienced both. Often, tutors are very well credentialed in math but are
not the best at communicating their knowledge effectively. Or perhaps they aren't great at relating to the proficiency level a student is at in order to best reach them. Similarly, school teachers often render math into a drudgery of seemingly disjointed numerical manipulations and formulas to memorize rather than understand. When you don't understand and you are forced to just keep memorizing, the subject becomes exhausting! My goal is always to impart upon my students the "why" and "how" of math. Why are we doing that manipulation? What is actually going on here? What does it mean when we do this or that procedure? I believe focusing on actual understanding is the key to real success in math. My specialty is TEACHING math! I hear way too many horror stories of students wasting their money and time hiring tutors with advanced graduate degrees who simply could not bring themselves down to the student's level to teach them the more fundamental subjects. I teach these subjects every day! I'm not here to impress you with how much technical math I know, but to teach fundamental math from the ground up! My focus is on simple communication and learning as opposed to overwhelming students with mathematical technicality. I get an understanding of where you are at mathematically so that I can make things intuitive and clear. I become your friend who is helping you understand, making the experience of learning math much more approachable and enjoyable. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2014. I am currently pursuing a second bachelors degree in Engineering Physics with the final goal of a Masters and Phd. I'm an honor student and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I am a professional tutor and teacher at a local college. I am sincerely passionate about math and physics. I love reading and spending time with my wonderful wife. I look forward to meeting you and helping you in your academic endeavors!
