Go Cash Go

Another milestone today.

Cash has been a HUGE football fan ever since he was tiny. And I enjoy watching games, but I did not want him to play. He's a smart cookie, and I value his precious brain, and I didn't see the point in risking head trauma.

Then add on 3 years of chemotherapy which considerably weakened his body structurally. Not permanently, but in some significant ways nonetheless.

But he begged and begged and begged. We told him if he finished 7th grade with excellent grades and behavior, after a year of letting his body get stronger, we'd consider letting him play in 8th grade. And he did it.

Tonight was his first game. I cried when I saw him on the field. I'm so proud of the way he works at the things he loves.

Sometimes the smallest fighters have the biggest stories. ❤️

There was a time when we weren't sure 13 was guaranteed. But here he is. We are so incredibly proud of this kid. He's smart, creative, intuitive, expressive, and hilarious. Happy birthday, Cash Miller! 🎂🥳🎉🎈😘
