Everyday, I wake up and I don’t think about whether my skin color stained my sheets the night before. Skin color doesn’t rub off. It is what it is. My character is what you should be checking.
I wake up to a new world, a new opportunity to be swallowed whole or to fill the hole. To sink in the abyss or swim with the sharks.
I don’t celebrate Black History Month for 28 days. No. I celebrate being Black 365 days a year by buying from Black businesses, investing in Black businesses, pouring into Black businesses and loving my Black ass family. That celebration doesn’t minimize you, your character nor your ability to access opportunity.

I bought this sweatshirt from my client and friend, Joi, and this woman is far more brave than I could ever claim to be. I stand beside her and millions of others who understood the assignment long ago.
Hate is a cancer and I woke healthy today. Healthier than I’ve ever been. I checked my linen sheets this morning - not a stain on it. ⚫️
Buy local, buy small, and love more. We are all human.

💪🏽 My Mama
👩🏽🌾I had this theory months ago. I believe I could survive off the food I planted so I asked myself what are staples I know I could grow and create hearty meals and be satisfied.
I decided on bell peppers, onions, potatoes, garlic, turmeric and I would buy dry goods such as black rice and beans.
I don’t eat meat so I felt this list could hold me for a little while if times got hard. I will be in the garden while the rest fight it out.
What are you growing?
