Hey darling,
I hear your wedding invites are out. Yeah! Frenzo told me you’re getting married soon, and I’m super excited. Congratulations sister.
I’m no snitch, but I know the genotype story too; she said it’s you and bro Jose’s big secret- AS marrying AS.
Marriage is a beautiful thing, and I wish you the best of it, honestly.
One thing I don’t wish you, though, is the pain and regrets accompanying intentionally making babies who are genetically exposed to frequent hospitalization.
I don’t wish you’d be selfish to choose love over life. Two beautiful things that go well together shouldn’t be in the boxing ring- they shouldn’t contradict.
I know you said your love is enough, and this genotype thing is for people who are not staunch in faith. I hope you’re rich in love enough to accept companionship wholly without attaching strings of reproduction. I hope you both are willing to visit a family planning specialist and make the right decision. I hope you consider other possible options for reproduction other than the traditional ways or at least consult specialists who would guide you through the process if reproducing becomes a thirst. I want to believe this journey will not turn into your first experiment of faith in God. You know, I believe in God, at least more than I believe the ‘our love is enough’ facade, that one fades like it never existed.
Finally, I genuinely pray one of you summons the courage to serve the other this overdone breakfast. Killjoy right? That’s a glimpse of what those innocent cuties will think of you each time they go through that pain.
