I had a dream recently where I was going to different programs in the church and thinning them out. I say that because each activity was defined by a head of hair...that I was either thinning with thinning shears, or cutting shorter with scissors. In fact on the Prayer Group, I was cutting off a pony tail! The hair had been swept up into a high pony tail on the top of the head and I cut it off ! Yikes! Then I saw a banner that read, " Less Is More". End of dream.

Now this dream came in the middle of a very busy week for me. I sought the Lord on the meaning.

Less is More is actually a saying that can be applied in many scenarios.

1 Corinthians 12 speaks of members of the church who are considered LESS honorable should be treated with MORE honor.

Matthew 5:3 Jesus says, " Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Psalm 37: 16 A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.

It's an upside down kingdom for sure. The poor are rich. The weak are strong.

But this dream had to do with the church and it's hair. Sounds crazy, but dreams are full of symbols.

The Bible is full of references to hair. When a mans head was shaved, it was a sign of shame or humility. A Nazarite did not cut his hair. Numbers 6: 9-12 tells us that the Nazarite did not cut his hair as a sign of being set apart for God's glory. It was cut if he accidentally broke his vows or when he fulfilled them. Samson was set apart as a Nazarite and a deliverer for Israel. Samson's hair represented his strength. When he failed, his hair was cut. When it began to grow back, he regained his strength once more.

In my dream of the church, the Bride of Christ, I am reminded of 1 Corinthians 11 that says " that hair is a sign of a woman's glory. "

Why would we want to cut off shorter the glory of the church?

Less is More.

Hmm....

As I was walking yesterday, I was reminded of the story of Gideon. We all know the story. God chose the weakest of the clan, Gideon, to lead His people into victory. He also wanted to use a weaker army. Why?

And the LORD said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

Judges7:2

Ahhh yes.... here is the glory. God began to cut off thousands from this army with Gideon because He knew their hearts. They would claim glory for themselves for the victory. He made the "first cut" by sending home the soldiers who were afraid. Then He "thinned out" the rest by the way they drank water! God directed Gideon to cut the army down to only 300 men. He also instructed them to use unusual methods to gain victory as well!

May I propose that we cleanse our hearts before the Lord in our every endeavor in the church. What is our purpose? Surely He has planned ahead good deeds for us to do. If He were to make a cut or thin out the church only those who desire glory for Him alone, would you and I be left standing to serve? Jesus knows the thoughts and intentions of our heart.

Less is More.

God revealed in this story of Gideon,that He is not about numbers. He will cut off those who seek glory for themselves. He will not share His glory with another.

“I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to idols. Isaiah 42:

He clearly recognizes and chooses those who seek his kingdom, alert and not afraid for battle.

Lord, we know many are called, and few are chosen. May we seek victory for Your glory and not our own. Not to us be the glory Lord, but to You! May there be more of You shining Jesus, and less of ourselves. Let us stay alert and sober minded. We will not be afraid, for You are with us. We will not be discouraged, for You are our God. You will strengthen us and help us! You will hold us up with Your victorious right hand. May the victory banner be raised in the church proclaiming, "Jehovah Nissi"! To God be the glory! Great things He has done!

What is God saying through the Super Moon?
May I propose that it’s time for the Remnant to rise and shine!

Remnant Rising I recently dreamed again of a vision I had many years ago of a stump. On the face of the stump was the image of the horns/antlers of a buck/deer drawn in Braille.

As we enter into this season of celebrating Purim and the life of Esther, I can’t help but think of the importance of the scribe.
“That night the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him.” Esther 6:1
Just as it looked as if the plans of the enemy were going to succeed, the tide began to turn when the King began to TURN on his bed! ……….

Bring out the Treasures I haven’t published a blog in quite a while. As many know, we moved last Fall, and it was quite a transition. I have juggled many of the activities that I once participated in. Some have fell into “ what we left behind”...
