Happy Farhers Day!
Simple pool fix, big results!
Changing out your pool return fittings is one of the easiest and most inexpensive upgrades you can make to improve water circulation. Pool returns are inexpensive, but some can be difficult to remove without the proper tools.
Better circulation helps move chemicals more evenly, pushes debris toward the skimmer, reduces dead spots, and continuously helps prevent algae and other common pool issues.
In this video, we show how swapping out old or basic pool returns can make a noticeable difference in how your pool water moves — helping your pool stay cleaner, clearer, and healthier with very little cost or effort.
A small upgrade like this can save you time, chemicals, and frustration all season long.
Cleaner water starts with better circulation.

📏💦 HOW MUCH DE! Pool Majntenance Tip: Measuring Matters! 💦📏
We’ve had several questions lately about DE filter powder and chemical measurements, so here’s a quick guide:
✅ 1 pound of DE powder is approximately 5.5 liquid measuring cups.
When recharging a DE filter after a good, thorough backwash, the general rule is:
🔹 0.8–1.0 lb of DE per 10 square feet of filter area
Examples:
• 48 sq ft filter = 3.8–4.8 lbs of DE
• 60 sq ft filter = 4.8–6.0 lbs of DE
• 72 sq ft filter = 5.8–7.2 lbs of DE
If you’ve performed a complete filter teardown and cleaning, manufacturers typically recommend:
🔹 1.0–1.2 lbs of DE per 10 square feet of filter area
For a 60 sq ft filter, that’s approximately 6–7.2 lbs of DE.
⚠️ Always check your specific filter manufacturer’s recommendations, as requirements can vary between models.
This also highlights an important lesson for all pool chemicals:
🧪 Proper pool care isn’t guessing.
1️⃣ Properly test the water.
2️⃣ Properly calculate the required dose.
3️⃣ Properly measure the dose.
4️⃣ Add the correct amount.
‼️ BE VERY CAREFUL USING THE SAME SCOOP FOR DIFFERENT CHEMICALS! Clean very well between chemicals, or even better, USE A DIFFERENT DEDICATED SCOOP FOR EACH CHEMICAL‼️
Too little often doesn’t solve the problem. Too much can create new problems and cost you money.
Whether you’re adding DE, chlorine, acid, stabilizer, calcium, salt, or borates, accurate measurements are one of the keys to a healthy, safe pool. 👍
