Our work has shaped some of Canada’s most important economic decisions.
In 1989, we delivered one of the first comprehensive evaluations of the proposed GST. Our analysis contributed to lowering the rate from 9% to 7%.
And we kept building on that impact.
Between 2005 and 2007, our economists developed long-term fiscal forecasting models that helped governments plan for the future of health and education spending, informing decisions like increasing the Canada Health Transfer and setting a more sustainable path for social funding.
