SensoryWorks
Benefits of swinging at OT!
*Sensory regulation – calming or alerting the nervous system depending on the movement
* Balance and coordination – improves vestibular processing and body awareness
* Core strength – children naturally engage abdominal and back muscles while swinging
* Attention and focus – rhythmic movement can help improve concentration after sensory input
* Motor planning – helps kids learn how to move their bodies intentionally
* Emotional regulation – swinging can reduce anxiety, stress, and sensory overload
* Bilateral coordination – encourages both sides of the body to work together
*Spatial awareness – helps understand where the body is in space

How are you celebrating Cinco De Mayo?

It is Foster Care Awareness month and we want to take a moment to thank our foster families who step into the trenches every day. Thank you for loving and caring for children in such an amazing way!
A special thank you to our current Patient Care Coordinator, Allie. She became a Foster sister at 11 years old; asking her parents if they could be a foster family and she would share her room. She has taught herself to braid hair, babysat for her parents, helped with homework, and most of all, loved on her five adopted siblings with an agape love.
Thank you, Allie. Your love for your siblings and children in Foster Care has given you insight into our kids and families at SensoryWorks and we are grateful for you!
