This scan captures Rue d'Auteuil and the area around 𝗟𝘆𝗰é𝗲 𝗝.𝗕. 𝗦𝗮𝘆 as a high-fidelity 3D Gaussian Splat.
Why this location specifically:
Rue d'Auteuil has a distinctive characters — low-rise Haussmann buildings, a village atmosphere, cobblestone accents, and a quiet residential feel that reads as quintessentially Parisian without the postcard cliché. It's the kind of location that production designers spend days scouting.

The scan preserves that character in full spatial detail — facades, proportions, light, scale, and context — ready to be dropped into a virtual production pipeline.

This opens up a different kind of workflow for filmmakers and production designers:

This is a 𝟯𝗗 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻 of 𝗟𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝘃𝗿𝗲.
What interests me about this isn’t just the visual quality — it’s the range of ways a scan like this could be used once it exists.
A few possibilities:
- a location asset for 𝘃𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
- a digital reference for 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀 / 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
- an immersive cultural or educational experience
- a reusable environment for interactive media
- a way to document and preserve a place in navigable 3D
I’m currently testing where this kind of capture creates the most value in the real world.
