At USVAA we strive to highlight the extraordinary creativity and drive of veterans while when possible, raise awareness about the issues surrounding the transition from military to civilian life. As an additional element the USVAA mission, we seek to honor the over 500 veterans who have, since the Revolutionary War, made significant contributions to the arts, humanities and in the last 100 years, the entertainment industry. Toward that end, USVAA seeks to have November 1st of each year recognized by Congress and the President as VETERANS IN THE ARTS AND HUMANITIES DAY. USVAA will begin highlighting the contributions of veterans in the arts, humanities and entertainment industry in 2015 USVAA with the launch of a documentary series about individual veterans who have made significant contributions in each field.
