Does your pup do well at the dog park? 🐶🌲
-
Dog parks can be wonderful places for dogs to run around freely and play with friends!
BUT they can also be dangerous due to untrained or aggressive dogs, unattentive owners, or potential diseases.
Particularly for young puppies prone to disease or those who are still working on their social skills, dog parks can be far from a walk 🐾 in the park.
Finding well-matched, healthy playdates to socialize young and old dogs alike is a great way to have more control 🎛 over getting the social needs your pup needs!

Are you trying to help your dog 🐶 be calm around triggering 🚨 sounds? Here’s how you can help!
-
We all know how hard it is when our pups won’t stop barking at EVERY passing car or EVERY knock on the door…
Help your dog become habituated to the many sounds in their daily lives by following these three steps:
1.) Find a triggering sound 🔉
(Simply observe your dog and note down what noises cause them to overreact)
2.) Gradually introduce during meal times 😋
(While your dog is eating, play a recording of the selected sound. If they stop eating or strongly react, lower the volume or stop altogether. If they keep eating, this is a great sign and you can start increasing the volume slowly!)
3.) Provide controlled, real-world exposure 🌎
(Help them experience the sound naturally, but don’t overdo it and make sure to have a way to stop as needed)
Some dogs, especially as they grow out of their sensitivity stage, might take a while to adapt, so more important than all, remember to be patient!

Can you recognize your dog’s stress state through their body language?
-
Even when our pups aren’t vocal, they are never quiet! 🤫Dogs are constantly projecting their emotional state and potential next action through their body language. 😲
By learning to notice the differences in their tail, ears, head, mouth, and stance, it is much easier to distinguish between a calm and relaxed pup and one that might quickly turn aggressive. 😡
Especially when meeting new potential friends, it is so important to be able to recognize these signals!
