We would love for you to join us for this crafty, 3 hour workshop to learn the basics of block printing on fabric.

Spend a joyful evening creating and connecting with a fun and positive community, and go home with a beautiful cloth patch, a patterned bandana, or a fresh design on a beloved piece of clothing.

We will meet at Wildkitchen Supply (567 W Main St) in downtown Sylva just before 5:30 on Thursday, December 4th. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to park and get settled, the class starts sharply at 5:30pm. This workshop will run until 8:30pm. Feel free to bring snacks and/or dinner- we will not take a formal dinner break but folks can pause for sustenance as needed.

Hope to see you there 🌻

Join us Tuesday, March 4 on Caney Fork for a cozy crafty evening where we’ll create beautiful linocut block print cards

All are welcome! No prior experience or artistic ability necessary!

Suggested Donation $25 - $50 includes all materials.

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED: https://forms.gle/7p3UmCsCaH6eP6Rj7
Limited to 12 participants. Location and other event details will be emailed to registered participants.

DETAILS:
We’ll begin by choosing a simple design which you’d like to print. Participants can either bring an original design from home, or choose one from our collection which can be copied and transferred onto your block. We’ll then learn the technique of relief carving using special gouges and soft rubber blocks which makes this process easy and quite satisfying. After our designs have been carved we’ll ink up our blocks and experience the magic of transferring the designs onto paper. At the end of the night you’ll walk away with a set of beautiful cards to send to your friends and family. You’ll also get to take home your rubber block so you can continue to make prints at home with just a small investment in your own tools.

Due to space and time restraints, each participant will be limited to creating one 3” x 4” block and five prints in a single color. Additional prints/different colors may be possible if time allows.
