A week after they were on top of the world they faced the saddest Friday of their lives.

Cullman's Winafred McCollum said goodbye to her husband late Friday.
Drew, Wil and Sloan said goodbye to their dad.

An Honor Walk was held at UAB Hospital.
Family and doctors and nurses lined the halls of the hospital as Jason McCollum was wheeled to the room where his organs were procured.
The procedure began at about 5 pm.

Jason spent 15 months at UAB waiting for last Friday's heart and double lung transplant, and every day for 15 months he walked the halls to cheer up patients and bring them hope.

It's fitting that an Honor Walk was held on Friday.

Jason took one more trip down those halls he knows so well.

As others walked to honor him.
