This remodel was done in a 127-year-old home in Woodstock, Illinois, and projects like this are always a reminder that older homes don’t need to be reinvented — they need to be understood.

The goal wasn’t to make the house feel new, but to let it feel like it had simply grown into itself over time. We focused on details that felt appropriate to the age of the home — warm wood cabinetry, traditional millwork, layered colors, and finishes that feel timeless rather than trendy.
