I had a guy approach me this week and ask, " what do you call this training you're doing ?"
I responded, " what do you mean?"
He asked "what are you training for?"
I paused a second and said, " life."
After detailing the pitfalls of training ruts and the ease of overlooking certain areas for too long, I found myself explaining why I have nearly everyone incorporate some of what I was doing.
Here's a few reasons why:

1. Roughly 95% of people after 30 never do explosive movements like jumping, sprinting.
2. Fascia tissue becomes stiffer, less hydrated and more fibrous with age. This weakens transmission of force between muscles.
3. People after 30 lose up to 3% of their muscle mass per year - without proper training.

I finished with explaining how I will be turning 42 this year, keeping up with growing kids, and that a little intention and direction with workouts can make the difference between wandering hopefully and changing effectively.
Where you're stiff, get bouncy.
Where you're weak, get stronger.
