If your CMMC provider has recently shut down, stepped back, or is no longer supporting your environment, here’s what to do immediately:

✔️ 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐒 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝. A change in provider does not reset your score, but any controls tied to a third-party environment should be reviewed.
✔️ 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐌𝐌𝐂 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲. This clarifies where your exposure exists and what needs to be stabilized first.
✔️ 𝐃𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Engage a replacement provider and document that remediation is in progress. Contracting officers understand transition periods. What creates risk is a lack of documented action.

Continuity matters in CMMC. Compliance is not a point-in-time effort, and it cannot be put on hold during provider transitions.
