Our philosophy is to take an individualized approach to each child's needs and implement behavior analytic principles to decrease any challenging behaviors that may be hindering growth. This is achieved by providing first-rate therapy in homes, schools and communities while utilizing best practice in Applied Behavior Analysis. Our goal is to help every individual reach their fullest potential and gain independence at their own pace.

Congrats to our Employee of the Month for November, Sami!

“I’ve been an RBT for 4 years, and I truly love making learning fun and meaningful for the kids I work with. At Genesis ABA, we take a unique, client-led approach that focuses on each child’s needs rather than just trial counts, which makes such a difference in their progress. Becoming a Lead RBT inspired me to pursue my BCBA by giving me insight into program development and helping other therapists create more effective sessions. Now, as a Case Manager, I manage my own clients with BCBA supervision to ensure quality care. My time at Genesis has been nothing short of amazing and has offered me opportunities that continue to shape me into the BCBA I strive to be. In the future, I hope to eventually help adults with addictive behaviors build healthier habits. 🩵”

Genesis is collecting donations to distribute to our local food pantries. Approximately 2 million Illinois residents who receive SNAP benefits are at risk of losing them due to the ongoing government shutdown. If funding is not restored, families who depend on SNAP for food assistance may face severe hardship.

We will be taking the donations to the food pantries at the end of each week, and will continue to collect and donate food each week until the shutdown is resolved. Please consider donating food to your local pantries!

Repetitive behaviors and restricted interests are a big component of autism and that appears to be more obvious in boys than girls. Girls may have restrictive interests, but their interests appear to be more socially and culturally acceptable, such as a favorite band or book, while a boy on the spectrum may spend hours looking at rocks.

A female with autism might spend her free time studying makeup tutorials on the internet in order to fit in with female peers. Essentially, girls may realize they are different, so they strive to fit in as best as they can, while boys often do not realize they have any social deficits.
